Like a Prayer

What am I up to? I just finished a digital painting, not sure what to think about it. Some interesting thoughts, some experiments. I think I became too obsessed with the pixels at some point, and got lost.

But what else? Any new media? I don’t know, actually. I got caught up in the painting process, to the point where I didn’t have much energy and time left for anything else.

I’m currently listening to Madonna, downloaded a bunch of her early albums, including her debut. Didn’t know Holiday and Borderline are from her debut, wow. What an impressive lady! No, but Like a Prayer is pretty good, currently the media player is pumping out Oh Father, haven’t heard that since the 90s on MTV.

Also got some Miles Davis, the later stuff, Alice in Chains, Fear Factory, Deftones. 90s nostalgia trip? Kinda. Can’t listen to K-Pop forever. Although Rude by Hearts2Hearts is probably my favourite track so far this year. Danceable, fun, and poppy. Or whatever the kids call it this day.

Media. Tried watching the latest Predator movie, but switched it off after 30 minutes. Weird tonal shifts. It’s like they took a character from a Marvel movie, and transplanted it into an Alien one. Very weird. Like it was written by two different writers, and neither had much interest in what the other is doing. Whatever. Hollywood. The Oscars was yesterday. Sinners, the main actor from Sinners won best lead. Congrats. Haven’t seen it, though. I thought it was a period drama, which piqued my interest, but then someone told me it’s also about vampires? Anyway, that’s when I lost interest. Maybe I’ll check it out one day. The best movie Every battle rages on or whatever, haven’t seen that one either. Although I like Pynchon, so that should be up my alley.

Iran. Boom boom. Bim Bam Bum. Beem. Bumm. Bam. Boom boom. Death. Blood. That was the newscast, thank you. The media player is now playing Express Yourself. Yes, I have it on shuffle, before someone gets anal. Also a good song. Man, the songwriting on that album is really spotless, insane. Trying to recognise the synths used is also fun. Not that I know any.

Anyway, I’m rambling. Getting old. Did I read anything new? A podcast about Boethius. Plotinus. Oh yeah, Hans Albers and his color theory. Watched a couple Youtubes on that. Look him up, if you have time. Fun experiments how color changes based on its surroundings. Your perception of it. Fun. Good exercise if you’re drawing with a limited color palette, like I.

Oh, now Like a Prayer is playing. Good way to finish this post. Keep tight, hang tight and keep cool. Summer is gonna be scorching, and I hope not because nukes are dropping.
