Will the real Holy Spirit please stand up - R30 Issue #7
I listened to another episode of hopwag on Monday, this time about the Cappadocians. What is the Holy Trinity, is Jesus the Son of God? Are they of the same essence, or is Jesus God in a different mode. All that stuff.
I’m just getting ready for an extended examination of Saint Augustine, probably one of the most influential church fathers and one of the most impactful philosophers in general. I figured studying early medieval theological debates might be a good prerequisite for doing so.
But back to more important stuff. What about Anime? Mother’s Basement has made a fine list of what japanese cartoons to look out for in the coming 2025 winter season. Or just watch Gigguk’s recap of his favourite Annie Mays from 2024. If you’re not into watching, and more into playing, maybe pray you’ll get executed by Hatsune Miku like this lucky Fortnite dweeb. Not only one, but three Hatsunes. Woah!
Cars. Did you know that Electrification might be killing the Auto industry? Well yeah, if you’re not Chinese, that is. My never-ending infatuation with climate-destroying sports vehicles led me to this Cars with Miles-video about the BMW M3 CS. In which he reiterates my concerns about BMW’s steering feedback: It’s a bit lame. I’ve driven an X3 before, and it was like… imagine you’re controlling a racing game with your keyboard. That kind of feel.
But anyways. Domus looked at the rise of K-Pop idols as models in the Italian fashion industry. Which pairs nicely with this Hideo-Kojima-inspired introduction of Minnie’s (of G-IDLE fame) debut album. Did anyone say David Lynch? Well, yeah, RIP David.
If you’re not a filmmaker, but would like to create eerie images with a fake nostalgia filter, take a look at FortranUA’s 2000s Analog Core Flux-LoRA. Feels like the Playstation just got released and I’m watching MTV. If you want to be creative but stay in the realm of computer stuff, maybe try live coding with Tidal Cycles. I wasn’t aware algorithmic music creation was already this sophisticated.
And that’s it for this week. Some leftovers: Top 25 Megaprojects of 2025, Nokia Design Archive, and someone yapping about Hegel for two hours and four minutes. À bientôt!
