Beyond the desert 'stache - R30 Issue #2
Yesterday a kestrel was chasing a songbird through my garden. He swooped down past the roof, the tiny bird in front of him making a hard break to the left.
They were like two F1 drivers tackling a corner, but the acceleration and control of the kestrel’s body outclassed the smaller engine of its prey. It caught the bird with its beak, and immediately shot off in the other direction.
Which reminds me, I still need to watch Kes (1969) by Ken Loach, a movie that’s been on my list for the good part of the last decade. Apparently it’s about a boy who befriends a kestrel. Will they go hunting together? Who knows.
By the way, talking about cars, Top Gear tested Hyundai’s next race car, the RN24. It’s probably just a prototype at this point, but I need to talk about new cars to keep the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) gods pleased. So here, cars.
Or pants? Arc’teryx and Skip (two companies that exist) have created the first robo-pants, so you can climb a hill with your muscles exhausted and longing for a beer. No clue what the MO/GO cost, but you can rent a pair for $80 a day.
Since I’m already posting links from Dezeen, there was another one on neuroarchitecture that caught my eye. Basically, people in the West have started thinking what is up with Feng Shui, and whether we should give it any notice. Apparently yes? Did Mr Beast consult them when constructing his $14 million city for his contestants?
Bashar al-Assad’s garage (talking about cars again) definitely could have used some styling. That lovely Lamborghini LM002 rusting away in a non-climate-controlled space, tsk tsk.
On the topic of guys with a porn ‘stache, Pornhub has published its 2024 year in review, with numbers and maps showcasing the depravity of humanity. Very enlightening. Connecticut is really into pee? Something like that.
Also, here’s someone’s 6 lessons he learned at an art gallery. Successful artists are like startup founders? I mean sure, why not. And SM was mean to Taeyeon, again. I just can’t. Had to drop in that K-Pop bit at the end, you know, for the clicks.
BTW, my book released! Datteln in der Bröselburg is now available on the Kindle Shop. It’s pretty cheap, so even buy it if you don’t speak German. Thank you & Namaste.
